Maldives Aid has been provided with an agricultural building by the UK-based company, Shufflebottom. The building is being constructed in Wales, from where it will be shipped to the Maldives. Fundraising is being carried out to finance to shipment and ensure completion. The project is also being supervised by a VSO volunteer. Upon arrival in the Maldives the building will be converted into a public market space; this will provide an outlet for the sale of produce and boost the recovery of the Maldivian economy. The Maldives has a strong tradition of market trading and the support provided will benefit the entire community.
